The Science Behind the Calm · Elaine Hicks
Freediving offers a rare entry point into the nervous system, a living laboratory where reflex becomes relationship. Each breath-hold becomes a dialogue between ancient biology and conscious surrender. This isn’t just about staying calm underwater it’s about teaching your body what safety feels like in motion.
In this immersive 8-hour experience, you’ll explore how freediving and nervous system regulation intertwine through 4 hours of lecture and 4 hours dive session. Learn practical tools for self-regulation, interoception, and underwater safety, along with Psychological First Aid (PFA) techniques to foster calm and connection.
You’ll take part in guided discussions, connect with a supportive community, and receive personalized feedback, worksheets, and reflection tools! This will help your body and mind carry this sense of calm and awareness far beyond the water.
