Scuba Diving @ Boschmolenplas, NL

June 5, 2026

Back to Boschmolenplas! For Naomi and Jeroen, this was their second time diving in open water as part of their SDI Open Water course. With a bit more experience under their belts and familiar surroundings, the day was about getting comfortable, building confidence, and taking the next steps in their training.

We started on land, taking our time to go through the gear setup again and run a proper buddy check. It might seem repetitive, but this is where good habits are built.

Before gearing up, we also practiced some finning and navigation techniques on land. Running through these exercises dry helps everything click a bit easier later on, so when it’s time to do them underwater, it feels much more natural.

Once we got into the water the main focus was on core open water skills, especially air-sharing and emergency procedures. And they did really well!

These skills can feel a bit intense at first, but both of them stayed calm and communicated clearly. Seeing them work as a team is a good example of community and empowerment.

Boschmolenplas gave us good conditions, calm water, good visibility, and plenty of space to focus without distractions. It’s one of those places that just works really well for training dives like this.

All in all, a really solid step forward. You can clearly see the progress already, and it’s exciting to watch their confidence grow with each dive. One step closer to certification.
